After looking at all the variations of the 101 GBS thing from the forum, thought it might be fun to do a swap dedicated to just GBS's.

Will be fun to see what people come up with. I'm sure we'll get people tieing the same variation but thats ok.

I'd like to keep this small, so start off at 8 people.

Anybody in???

1. NomdeTrout
2. Ron McNeal - RECEIVED
3. fodf - RECEIVED
4. Daconil - RECEIVED
5. Rob Ast - RECEIVED
6. Mumbles - RECEIVED
7. Tod Fossetta - In Mail
8. Whit - RECEIVED

Thanks everyone. I've updated the list above.
I got started on tieing last night but nothing solid yet. I'll post a picture up when I get one finalized.

*Whit - sent you a PM.

With Whit and Rob added it looks like you are full. If not, and if there is a decent amount of time before the deadline I'll tie up a GBS for the group. If not and you meet face to face I'll come by for a beer. As I recall you bought the last round Mr. NomDeTrout. Appreciated of course, but a bit sneaky!

Mumbles, I'll throw in a couple more people. let's do 8 people max.

I felt bad for leaving early on such late notice AND not tieing 2 sets like everyone else. So the beer was on me. Perhaps it was a little bribe so when I'm across the pond, you'll take me out on the beach for some SRC fishing :)

Really? I'll check out the original post for the 101 GBS's. If so, it would be great to send our's in.
I'll contact him and see what we can do.

In the mean time, is everyone ok with tieing 1 extra if everything works out with the 101 GBS auction?

edit: I just emailed Joel from Royal Treatment Fly Fishing to see how we can contribute to the fund-raising. We'll see what he says and go from there.

I'll see when Joel gets back to me with when he needs the flies by. I was thinking sometime mid March if that works for everyone. A good solid month, if not we can do late March as well.

Input...Hoh Down...I'm fishing and socializing while there...not planning on tying too many flies. I'll be onboard for whatever though.

I am bowing out for now as there are some folks who are uncomfortable with my joining at the moment. I believe I have found a temporary solution to the local mailing problems. If anyone wants further information before I join a swap with them I am happy to speak with them.

Guys, check out this email by Joel:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's great!
Here's the way it works.... Send the flies to me at the address below. Please include the tyers name, address, email and signature with each fly. If a material list is available send it along as well. It's nice to have all that on one piece of paper but I'll take it anyway I can get it.
I'll photograph the flies and post them on my web site. The flies will be listed with the tyers name. When the flies are donated the receiving group will be listed as well.

If you are a member of a group or know of a group that would be interested in auctioning off a few flies to benefit wild fish please let me know. Right now the plan is fairly loose but I will develop a system to get these flies out where they will do the most good. Each year I will do a poster of the flies collected that year. I'll post information about the posters on my site and the Facebook page.

Look for more information in the next issue of NW Fly Fishing..... and on my site as it becomes available.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

sounds like this will be fun. when time comes for the swap, have all details ready as Joel requested.

Thanks everyone. THis will be the first swap I host and hoping for it to be a fun one for everyone.

OK, I'm done, where do I send em?

Just got a new HMH tube fly setup, so these are my first tube flies, ala Green Butt Skunk, complete with Gami hooks, I'm hoping for feedback and tips on improving them.

Hey everyone, so looks like everybody is busy so would everyone be ok with extending the due to possibly late March or even early April?
I'm going to be back and forth from NYC for awhile but I can find some time to tie. If everyone is comfortable with late March, after the Hoh Down, let's plan on doing that.

I'm cool with that but I'm also cool with tying up my full set this weekend or next weekend. I'll have some dedicated fly tying night time at home.
