So I'm trying to help a guy from FL who is visiting in June. He's doing Seattle, staying at Mt. Rainer and then heading down my way to Portland. I've convinced him to visit Mt. St. Helens on his way down. He isn't really interested in stillwater fishing (which I suggested) but would like to catch trout in a stream, regardless of size- I guess that is something that really isn't an option in Florida. His family is into hiking so the ideal spot would be a place that had some scenery (hard to miss inside the blast zone) had a stream with some fish (even if tiny) and had something resembling a hike.
As far as I've seen, the fishing in the Monument is stillwaters (at least that is what I've done). I think he'd be happy hiking only if the fishing wasn't an option so if you have a strong suggestion for hiking I could suggest that, too.
Thanks in advance!
