Have you ever been mistaken for a guide?

Yesterday a Federal officer was waiting for me at the take out as there had been some concern that I was illegally guiding a piece of blm water.

Puhhhlease. I fucking dress better, row better, and fish better than 75% of these shit guides around here.

How dare you insult me. :D

You are a guide, you just don't get paid for it. Sort of like the difference between a wife and a ...

"Dress better"

This happened to me multiple times on the S. Platte in CO when I lived there. Both the Dream Stream section and the Deckers/Cheesman canyon sections. Always when I was with my father in-law or friends who did not fish a lot. Apparently nobody else tries to help family/friends get into fish on new water in CO. I used to take it as a compliment- maybe I look like I know what I am doing! Now I feel like a schmuck....thanks swimmy.

Dress better -you crack me up. You probably snorkel better, read better, play tennis better, etc. than a lot of guides as well .
Only by elk hunters who contracted our services back in the day, lol.

Due to my obvious lack of fashion sense, I HAVE been mistaken as homeless a time or two however . . .

Or more likely, a boss in another state.;)
Thank God for voicemail, etc.

Is this when you were totin' SG around? I can see the mistake. Young square jawed buck, nice boat, rowing a retirement-age sport or two.

I was asked once on the OP...by a guide.

First he spoke to each one of us separately to make sure our stories jived. Then once he realized he was talking with Salmo and Swimmy he apologized, said he was a big fan, and asked if we wanted to hold his pistol.

Fished Friday, Sat, Sunday. I have photos but was waiting until Salmo created his trip report to post 'em.

This was the drive up Saturday:

Today I have more WFF guests arriving and gonna sneak out this afternoon to see if we can get into the evening bite.

Kudos for taking folks out. Hell, if you relax your dress code I may even shelf my dislike for floating moving water & hazard a trip to Bozeman, lol . . .
