My name is Brian and I am new to the board, and Washington. I have lived in Chicago for the last two years, but I lived in Colorado for most of my life. I am 26 years old. I just met a guy down at Picnic Point who saw me setting up my gear and recommended I check out the site. Today was my first day on the water, and the first day with my new 8 wt rod. I was after sea run cutts but didn't catch any today. I'll keep trying.

Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.

Welcome Brian, the gentleman certainly sent you in the right direction...this is the place where it all things fishy happens! I doubt you could find a better group of hooligans than WFF has to offer .

Great. I'm truly a fish out of water when it comes to salt, salmon, steelhead, etc. But I know I'll feel at home once I can get out to the Yakima (especially during the Mother's Day Caddis fly hatch). I'm excited for summer to come around so I can take my 3-4 wt. on a few backpacking trips to high mountain lakes as well. Beautiful country out here. wow

Welcome, Brian...you'll find all sorts of things here to while away the hours between fishing. As for the Yakima, it certainly gets its fair share (and then some) of attention. The Mother's Day Caddis hatch has been, for me anyway, a thing of lore...every time I've wanted to try to time that hatch the river has been blown out. This year might be an exception if our snow pack isn't heavy and the runoff is moderate. But there are other great opportunities on the Yak and elsewhere. Enjoy the great state of WA and WFF.com!

welcome to the board Brian. If you're ever in need of a fishing partner out on the Yak, shoot me a PM. 24 years old, obsessed with fly fishing here. :]
If you dont want to wait until spring and want to meet some people, I fish most Saturday mornings and fish here and there with other members on this board. We can split gas if you want and hit some waters around here. I'm in N. Seattle. Let me know.
