Tim, I use white ultra thread 280 (on larger hooks) or 140 on smaller hooks to get the taper I want, then 70 denier to start tying in materials, of course keeping the thread flat. I do this for all tinsel and floss under bodies. When using seal or pigs wool it's not really necessary, except on larger hooks. I know some folks use uni-stretch for under bodies and I've tried it and it works but I like thread better.
