Thoughts appreciated!
My hook inventory needs to be restocked and I got to looking at these Redding, California-based shop, "THE FLY SHOP" line of hooks.

Curious of any of our guys here have any experience with them?

What irons are you guys using in your vises?

And what source.

FISH ON!

Thanks Norm.

My serious hook inventory is dry g up and I noticed many shops have their own line of hooks......they are WAY cheaper, but with that comes a downside.

I appreciate your I put as well do others who have yet to respond.

as my supply of tiemco ($$$) hooks is basically used up i replaced all of my 2305, 2302, 2312 hooks with "the fly shop" hook equivalents.

great deal for the price

I thought the 5262 heavy wire hook was pretty decent for larger nymphs and soft hackles, no complaints there.

However, the 100 dry fly hook didn't compare favorably to the Tiemco 100 or Daichi 1180, particularly in the smaller sizes. I fish a lot of small dries, micro-caddis, olives, midges etc, and the top-end hooks generally seem far less prone to bending or breaking.

I've largely gone back to Daichi just to cover my bases.
