Hook threaders

Looking to get one of those devices to help pass tippet thru hook eyes for a friend who struggles with hand stability, not sight. What have you used with success that is simple? Will be used on smaller flies, sz14+. Ive come across a few in the past but never used one. Preferably cheap too, so I can get him a few as he's bound to lose them.

Thanks gang

Maybe try Jo Ann's or some other shop. Needle threader. May or may not work, but worth a try.

Needle threader is a fine cheep way to go. I have a C&F fly box that has the threaders built in. You can preload them and then all you have to do is put the tippet thru the threader and pull the fly off, tie a knot and go.

I use a magnetic threader on smaller flies & tippets, but I'll try a needle threader - good idea!

Good eyes or Glasses. I shake also quite bad sometimes. You have to sit down on something to steady your hands.

Depends, the magnetic threader works great on standard dries, not so much on parachutes, as the hackle holds the eye out of alignment.

I have one of the CF boxes you can have GM(99% sure). It's buried in my garage so I may not be able to dig it up till after Memorial Day though. Yours if you are not in a rush...

I have several CF boxes for Montana, I thread anything under 18 on the threaders ahead of time and keep one threader clear for field use. He won't be disappointed with a CF box......

Or better yet, get him a C&F box preloaded with several of each of the flies he'll use. Perfect gift!

You guys are geniuses. Much appreciated. Yard Sale hit me up if you find it, no rush.
I also have a C&F box. I also tried a needle threader. And several different kinds of threaders. I always come back to my glasses. Sometimes I have to rest my hands on my knees. It's hard to hit that eye what everything is moving around.

It sucks to get old. Somethings just don't work well any more.
