Well, after rowing my boat down the Yakima in a T-shirt last weekend, I was sadly reminded that It is still late-winter\early-spring... bawling: I got an Early Release from school today, (Thank God) So i decided to head over to Rocky Ford... I knew the weather sucked, so I packed my windstopper fleece and a shell, and took off for the 20 minute ride to the ford. When I got there, the wind was howling, there were raindrops on my windshield, and the water was covered in mini whitecaps... I was obviously wrong about the nice weather lasting, and the shot to the ego that ensued after freezing my balls off watching the newly stocked fish rising on random crap all over the windblown water...

I can't wait any longer for spring, where the Bass and Carp start to roll out, where the parade of hatches start on countless rivers, and by god, the first saturday in June, where I can explore some more of my favorite areas in search of the 30" desert brown... :D

May spring come soon to all of us,

Connor H

And you did not fish? You are standing on the waters edge with all the gear and did not fish?

Now that is a fishing report. Who cares if it was cold? It is winter man! Glad you got out.

If it weren't for those miserable days, I don't think we'd appreciate the perfect ones nearly as much. Sorry to hear about the rough trip but I am sure you'll have forgotten all about it by the first week of June.

I've already forgotten about it... I'm ready for some nice weather, some big bugs, and huntin down some big boys in some creeks...

The wind can sure screw up fishing times. Where I live isn't Washington. But at my place it was dead calm, so I headed out for some time on the water. When I got to where I wanted to be the wind was blowing things sideways and it was colder because of it. I did manage two fish. Nothing big but for about a 1/2 hour it was OK. Ice in the guides and cold wind.
