I spoke to a friend of mine who had been out in the ocean recently and from the sounds of it the Coho are already starting to bunch up. Apparently the commercial fisherman are catching some incidentals.

They are relatively small, 3-4 lbs. but in good numbers. They will be gaining between 1/2 lb. and 1 lb. each week from here on out. I'm already getting excited for another banner year of Coho fishing!

It sounds like the Coho are already starting to arr...

Are you saying silvers are blind?
I'll actually go way out on a thin limb and guess that the word from the dudes out on the ocean waters is fairly accurate. Good news.

July 1st generally marks the opening of the ocean salmon season so we're just a few weeks away for adventurous souls.

Can't wait!

Just spoke to a friend who lives out by Joyce. Said he was fishing for SRCs on Saturday morning at a beach along Route 112. Only got 3 SRCs in about 4 hours but there was a short period of time where he couldn't get his fly to the cutties because of these darn silv.... I mean bullheads. Large 3 pound "silver bullheads" kept intercepting his clouser. He hates it when that happens.;)
