I don't really know how to explain this one. I spent 9 hours on baitless/barbless hook waters today. Along the way, on the far side of the river away from the road side, I run into a freakin pile of gear about 1 foot underwater.

Pictured above are some of the contents of that pile. Not all. I had to fish out a half a dozen large sinkers as well.

Their placement was real odd. Like someone had just dropped them there. That didn't make much sense though. Who drops all their gear and walks off?

Somebody....

Buncha junk.

Lots of barbs too....

How much do you want for that blue spinner?
You can have it for free! Just fish it out of the gas station trash barrel where I tossed it all.
Poacher dropped his stuff and because it was nighttime couldn't retrieve it?

looked like someone dumped over their tackle box and was in a hurry to leave.

I posted these items in the Lost and Found.

Which can did u dump by fancy spinners and spoons?
Should have donated it to some kid trying to get his gear fishing on.

Those blue fox spinners are deadly on coho, oh wait, never mind.
Geez! If you want to see junk and garbage, just visit the confluence of the Middle and North Fork of the Snoqualmie, by Rosebud River Ranch. There was so many piles of trash left behind that it would have taken many several garbage bags and multiple trips there and back to the road to move it all. There was a nasty note at the trail head, probably left by one of the party-goers to the rest of the gang, bitching about the mess they left and how he/she could only drag out so much.

I will bring a garbage bag or two with me, the next time I go fishing a river. I've never seen any trash before when visiting that spot in the past, so I was totally unprepared for what I encountered and feel bad that I didn't have the means to anything about the mess. Not next time, I'm telling you. WTF...

They will vintage lures before we will be able to fish them on any Puget Sound rivers for cohos..
"I buy I new pair of needle nose pliers about every 2 weeks, where the hell do those things go?"

A quote from my non fisherman dad that my brother and I heard an untold number of times when we were in junior high and high school.

Little did he know they were all at the bottom of Myron lake, the Tieton River, Mud Lake, The Naches River, Leech Lake, I-82 ponds, Wenas Lake, Bear Lake, Ahtanum Creek, Manastash Lake, the Toppenish Gravel Pit Ponds etc etc etc...

If you want pictures of some surprising garbage head north on Stratford out of Moses Lake. Turn left at Rd. 12. Drive to end of road. :D
Yesterday, I was about 3 miles of hiking up a backcountry watershed in a Special Regs area at about 8800' altitude. Still found snell hooks and worm containers. For 4-6" trophy trout... Fucking assholes.
In all seriousness, I imagine someone just forgot to zip up their fanny pack.
