A friend and I decided to hit a river today fishing for Steel. We have a understanding that we will alternate on who gets to pick what hole or which part of the hole to fish first.(we always switch parts and fish each others because we cover water differently) Today was NOT my day. I could not do anything right. I would pick the wrong side, part, or hole EVERY TIME. Whether it be the left or the right, top or the bottom, I was always wrong!bawling: It was getting towards the end of the day my friend was 7 for 9 and i was 1 for 1. (at least i have a better ratio:rofl
We get to one of the last holes and it was my turn. I cover that water with the swing and with nymphs..gotta be a fish. No fish. My friend steps in starts fishing...no fish. Then he starts to dick around. Behind the head/back casts, stuff we do when we are tired and ready to go, just being goofy. Well one cast bounces off a log into some soft water with no drift, we start laughing as his antics, he pulls up to make another cast...and i quote "what the hell?".....my jaw drops...FISH ON!:beathead: I start cursing as i trudge down the bank to help land the fish. It was a beautiful 10lb. Wild Buck! We removed 3 hooks from his mouth plus my buddies fly and watched him charge into the dark green upon the release....healthy fish:thumb:.
So that is my luck....that little story just about sums up my day of fishing , i couldn't but another hit while my friend gets them when he is goofing off......what a day what a day. I did catch one fish which i am happy about, BUT i just wish the catching could have been more even:hmmm: it was good to get out though and now my pity party is done......howd you guys do?
