So this weekend a buddy and I hit the Klickitat for a few days, both nymphing and swinging. We walked up the old highway from the bottom most of the time. It was busy out there, but not nearly so bad as I'd expected for the holiday weekend. We personally didn't bring any steel to the bank, but my buddy at least had one or two takes from them. A decent number of the boats we saw seemed to have a fish, while most of the bank guys did not. Water had dropped a bit before the weekend and was actuallly quite nice. Lower would have been sweet, but it was definitely fishable, and quite clear.

Other than that I just wanted to say a big thanks to docstache for a great crash course spey lesson earlier this year. Even though I didn't get into fish this weekend I felt confident that I was covering the water well, and only rarely felt the need to flinch or duck as I casted!

Thanks for the report Eric, maybe still a little too soon.

+1 to docstash's spey lessons! My casting has gone improved leaps and bounds since spending some time on the water with him. :thumb:
