I was given the 567 fly reel. it looks like it is set up for steelhead. i looked on LLBean web site but no mention of this reel. does anyone know if it is ok to use for salt water or anything about the reel? Thanks.

A picture, or at least a more detailed description, would help. Bean has had a lot of different reels, by different makers over the years. Most of them are/were pretty good.

Almost any modern reel can be used in saltwater if you rinse/soak it well with freshwater afterwards.

If so, good reel. Machined aluminum, but not postive about the other parts - always a good idea to rinse in freshwater.
