Lenice Opener - Lost Gopro

2446 Views 23 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  Jim F.
Hey guys. I know that a good number of the folks that were out at Lenice yesterday for the opener are forums members. So, I'm really hoping here:

I lost my GoPro. I'm pretty sure I dropped it near the launch under the trees - the right hand one - where it looked like a dry docked fleet yesterday afternoon.

The GoPro is a GoPro 3 on a Chest mount with an LCD "backpac" screen on it.

Praying that someone found it... I'd be *more than happy* to pay for shipping to have it sent back to me - and if you're close enough I'd be *more than happy* to meet up with you instead and buy you a beer or two.

Thanks in advance.

hope you get it back. ive had a friend return a lost gopro to its owner, but not before he watched the "adult content" on it while trying to figure out who the owner was.

How was the fishing? Inquiring minds would like to know. Heard it was a bit windy.

Eight to the net, about a dozen lost. I think it was pretty good - had better days there, had worse days there. Fish size was nothing to write home about. Others did better, some did worse - I had a slow start getting dialed in. Once I found a leech that worked well I was getting consistent hits. I hate staring at a bobber - most guys were midging and it was pretty hot in the early hours.

In the afternoon I was rowing against heavy winds and chop for a long, long time... by about 3pm pretty much the whole fleet was back at the launch.

I had heard from the bio that the sizes seemed to be down from last year. I haven't missed the opener in may years just had other things come up.

I knew at least one of the midge guys. He sets up in the NE corner and fishes out of boat.

Thanks for the info.

I chatted with the biologist (Chad, I believe?) at the launch around noon when I took a break. The management has changed. Lenice gets all catchable-sized now, and no browns or tigers due to some fed related ESA BS.

Thanks! There are a number of guys that will be there for several days, some through the weekend. If one of them found it I suppose I won't find out about it until they get home since there's almost no cell/internet at Lenice.

Tight lines, dp.
I may have caught one of the last of the tigers last year. It was a big, pretty fish.

That would have been Chad Jackson. They quit planting browns / tigers in waters that can drain / connect to the Columbia.

Hope you get that GoPro back.

Good luck, DP. I will fish with you one of these days....

Good luck with the GoPro.

These also started planting the catchables, so they could compete with the spiny rays. They've upped the number of fish and will likely rehab again at some point.

Mr. irafy.

Hadn't heard that. Any idea of the schedule? That's gotta be tough on the nunally chain. Nunally - merry - lenice and ??.. That is a lot of water to cover, with a lot of side channels, hiding spots, etc. They couldn't even take care of B---, which used to have some great 26" fish!

I was involved in roetinone treatment at Percival Cove in Oly a number of years back. An enclosed body of water, tough stuff. It worked and there were some nice fish to bring home.

I know bumps are rude, but in this case I need to keep this on top for a few days while retirees are making their way back from the lake. '

I have so much faith in the goodness of fly fishermen in general that I was expecting a Good Samaritan ending after the weekend.

I don't know. I might have been tempted to say it was returned by a considerate angler.... but then I NEVER misplace, forget....
