Here's what I am thinking:

Carol is looking into the cost of a van retrofit and I will work out the entree fees soon. It may include one fly and money.

Someone will go out and catch a searun, put a tape to it and get an accurate measurement, photograph it and post it here.

On the given date, we will go fishing anywhere: wade, boat whatever. Organize parties, fish together, secret spots, whatever.

If you think you've caught a fish that is close to the winning size, you must photograph it IN THE WATER, with the tape and post the photo.

The winner will get all the flies and possibly donated items.

Good thoughts Leland. If I can fish the given date I'm in. If I can't but can assist in the lead up to the event please let me know.

I'm feeling left out cause I don't get over to the salt for SRC's
So will cut bows from RF count? I know no fair.
I'll just go cry in my beer.
Come over and fish with me.

I'm hoping this happens in May. That way I can fish the lower Skagit and keep my boat out of the salt. If it isn't in May I will have to get WW to put his boat in or get the 12 foot Klamath running.

Guys,

I'm sorry but I screwed up. This derby is against the WDFW rules. We cannot target searuns in any derby. I will need to rethink this fundraiser and will ask that Chris stop the thread here.

Sorry,
Leland.
