Greetings all- I will soon be moving to west seattle and am excited about the possibility of after work SRC fishing. Any wisdom on the area will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lincoln Park is a good place to try for sea-run cutts. I would suggest starting at the south side of the point near Colman pool, and then working your way around it on an incoming or outgoing tide. I've had best luck on the incoming.

Last summer it seemed that the gear guys hit pay dirt with the migrating silvers. I watched them haul in several nice salmon at Lincoln Park. I didn't catch any silvers there on a fly, and got the feeling that fish were running pretty far off the beach.

I'm interested in hearing more tips about this beach if anyone would be kind enough to share.

I caught silvers on the fly all summer long off lincolm park. You don't need to cast out far at all. I caught some nice 5lb silvers that took out .75 of my backing and looked like they were headed for vashon when they took my line. It was such a blast I went there every morning before work.

Sounds great. Were you targeting incoming or outgoing tides? Where did you cast--on the point in front of the pool? Flies?

They will take on either tides just as long as the tides were moving. It seemed they would patrol the beaches every hour or so on a moving tide looking for wounded baitfish. They will hammer your flies. I always used Chartreuse Flies in a number of different forms. The unified standard is the clouser minnow. I has beaded eyes to help it sink and gives it a jigging motion when stripped. Just be careful when the tide is out on the steep beach with your back cast - you can damage a alot of flies this way.

I found most of my success just off the north side of the swimming pool.

Thanks for the helpful hints! What kind of line were you using, floater or sink tip? I've heard either will work. Anyway, thanks and maybe I'll see you out there.

I was using an intermediate sink line. Floating lines will work but I caught all mine on the intermediate tip.
