My longer handled wooden trout net came to an untimely demise this weekend on the Yakima. No, it was not under the stress of a massive native cutthroat or rainbow, I just broke it trying to get it out from under my seat. It was tangled and I just pulled.

Now I need a new one, longer handle preferred, not a net for dinks and smaller fish, I still have that net. Not really a net for steelhead sized fish, I still have that one too. Something in the mid size, nicer trout size with a slightly longer handle.

The only thing salvagable on it was my zip on measure net bag, which I hope to put onto the new suitable replacement that I find. Although maybe not the most practical, I'm looking for a nice looking durable wooden net. What do you use and why do you like it? I'll be browsing around a bit. Should one of you WFF members make them, let me know. I'm going to be bying one from someone at some time. Sending my $$ to a member or a sponsor would be a good thing to do. Thanks.

I'll give a shout out to Fisknat...I have one of the Guide Boat nets and dig it. I only have it because some friends gave it to me as a gift for doing a lot of rowing over the years, I dont know exactly how much they are, but I probably woulnt have spent that money myself, but since it was a gift...I'll take it! Anyway, mine has the "light weight rubber bag" and I like it thus far (although its uses sometimes are a little too far a few between if you catch my drift).

HUGE THANK YOU to WFF member Michael Nelson. He is in between jobs and working that angle, packing for a trip that he is leaving for this morning yet still had the time to drop his once used Brodin Frying Pan Ghost net with longer handle in the mail via FedEX. He had it packed before I sent him a payment and within ten minutes or less of receiving my payment via paypal Michael had the box around the corner to FedEX and provided me a tracking number. I hope his trip goes well, the net is showing that it will be delivered tomorrow (less than 48 hours) and I'm happy as can be. I know that Michael has a few other items that he has listed, anyone getting things from him will get exceptional personal service. Michael, when you get back, should you read this, thank you sir, hope your trip was fantastic. Ed

Despite the awesome collection of humor in this thread...thanks amigos...

My new net arrived at home yesterday, less than 48 hours after I paid Michael. He packed it sandwiched in bubble wrap, then cardboard, then sandwiched again in bubble wrap and then in a sturdy cardboard box. That is pampered shipping, fast shipping and awesome service from a fellow WFF member. Thank you Michael. Hope your trip to the lake this week was awesome.

Oh, and for those with such a funny sense of humor...land your own damn fish you non net carrying bozos.
