Looking For A 5/6 Wt Fly Reel.

Had a mishap Id like to not talk about with my Hardy Ultralight. Im in need of a 5/6 wt reel that is capable of holding an OPST commando head and running line for my 5 and 6 wt single handers. Though my hardy is quite a modern design Id be interested in something with more classic styling such as a Ross, Orvis, or even a good deal on a Hardy. But anything you got I'm happy to consider. Looking to stay around 150$

Thanks everyone,

Johnathon

Johnathon, I cast 2014 best new reel...Very Light, smooth and totally sealed drag system is won of the best out there in my opinion... Ask around &...check them out , and let me know... Mike
How's the sound? The reason I'm considering going with a more classic reel is also for the sound. I think these are nice looking reels but I've never even touched one so not totally sold.

If you want that loud Clicker..... This is not the reel you want......

These do not have a loud clicker, very quite clicker, and you can take up the line on the water buy simply spinning the reel spool it will take line on the water right in......I replaced my Sage, Orvis, and Hardy reels with the 3 Tand Reels.....And service is a phone call away and GREAT......If ever needed...If you want a Light, quite, awesome drag reel that will hold the backing needed, this is one you should look at....They are online, look at the website...Mike
Thanks for the info mike. Il take a good look at them and try to get one in my hands soon. And if you still got them il shoot you a pm. Thanks again

Define Classic a little more...? Classic, to me, would be a pawl and gear non large arbor reel.

I have a black 'classic' large arbor Orvis, one of the first "true" intentionally designed large arbor reels, available. It's a Battwnkill LA 5/6. Machined, disc drag, ultra large arbor, made in England (made in the former Hardy factory), cool factory canvas and leather case. Great shape.

I guess classic as in a looks sense. With the functionality of a modern reel , Yet Large enough to hold the size of line il be using. And with a 150$ price tag or less. Too much to ask for? Hahaha maybe. I'd love to see pics of your reel. And what you might like to get for
It. Thanks Richard.

Also whats the sound level? looking for some moderate sound to go with the reel as well.

Thanks
Johnathon, I asked around and was told that aside from the 3 Tand Tf series having a Not so loud clicker, the #50 would make a perfect reel for you..It holds more than enough backing, one of the best sealed drags, the lightest in its class, and the best Warranty out there..... Ask Around This will work perfectly for what you are looking for.....Mike
