Haven't heard a report yet but with over 100,000 fish having already passed Lower Granite Dam, there are a good chance of being plenty of steelhead in the Ronde. Go found out for yourself and make your own report or better yet keep it to yourself. Seeing where you live, I can appreciate wanting to get a report before making the commitment. However, steelhead fishing in this kind of weather should be worth it enough...a fish or two is merely a bonus to a summer steelhead trip to the Ronde.

well 500cfs and 70 degree water temps for the ron isnt exactly the best for fishing. i have a 7 day trip planned too. i live 8hrs away and i have got reports and the fish are holding back bc the lack of pressure and fresh water. ive fished rain snow muddy blown out water and 32cfs flows i dont care. i just want my trip to be fishy old man

alls i said was the damn river needs some rain lol, which it does. im starting to think the only reason people get on this website is to post smart ass comments just like every other forum website on the internet. why say anything if it has absolutely nothing to do with the post? the post is asking about the GR and a fishing Report right? 9/19/2010 – Steelhead fishing on the Grand Ronde appears to have slowed the past week or two after a quick start in early September. This is probably the result of lower flows and higher water temps compared to the cool wet weather of early September. We need some hard rains to bring the next flush of fish upstream. Current GR stream flow is 643 cfs, about 10 % below average for this time of year.

This is where I get my report for the Oregon section near Troy. It will basically backup SteelSwing's comments.
http://www.fisheyesoup.com/fishing-reports/waters/Grande-Ronde-River/1/ You could always call Boggan's Oasis 509-256-3372. They will give you about the best real time report as anyone. Seeing they sit right on the Washington section of the Ronde and every guide and fisherman stops in there before and after.
I'll be there in 3 weeks Yeehaw!!!

Ya, I wouldn't make the trip to the Ronde, better fishing on the west side.
I'm pretty sure that WDFW put in an emergency reg that restricts the Ronde to only Washington fisherman living east of the Cascades. I thought I read that somewhere, but when I do a site search on WDFW, the only thing I find is a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head.

I look at things like this that you are looking for people to talk to. If you don't want any comments, don't ask.

Apparently you are new here. It would help if you told a little about yourself. Don't just come back to your first post and rag on the people here. Most will help if you don't come here all high and mighty.

Buddy of mine just got back from Heller, both Snake and Ronde are pretty warm. Some fish around but the bulk must still be down by the confluence. Need a little rain and cooler weather. Just a little more time and all hell should break loose.......
