The ribbing sequence was stolen outright from Hans Weilenmann.

hook - Dai Riki 075 #8
thread - Danville 6/0 tan
tail - partridge
underbody - dubbing cream
body/rib - medium tinsel opal
hackle - partridge
wing - hen pheasant

mash barb, start thread, wrap to bend

measure (shank length) some partridge fibers; tie in

dub thread/dub tapered underbody (optional)

tie in tinsel; wrap to base of tail

twist tinsel 'till it's a fine rope (counterclockwise seems to work best)

rib body; tie off/trim

tie in partridge by tip; wrap, tie off/trim

cut some segments (gap width) from matched hen pheasant wing feathers; stroke together

measure (halfway to tail); fold over body, tie in with pinch wrap

trim butts; build head, whip finish, SHHAN

Regards,
Scott

Just have to say how 'fishy' that fly makes me feel! It puts me in place and time to make a cast and feel the strike of a fish that has revealed itself at the surface. Thanks!
