Not a lot of streams in this immediate area but numerous lakes. Close to Metaline Falls is Sullivan Creek which runs by but not into Sullivan Lake. This stream has good flow right now and holds some decent browns in the lower reaches and is mostly a cutthroat fishery above the lake. A decent road runs along the stream for several miles upstream and provides some challenging flyfishing and brushbeating. I use a 7'6" 2 wt. to fish up there with a short leader, forget about a backast! Fish are fairly aggressive and take well hackled flies quite readily. I doubt if you will encounter any other flyfishermen. Hope you do well, drop me a line when you get back and let me know how you do. Ive.
