Hoping that the weather is going to be okay tomorrow I am thinking about exploring the MF Snoqualmie. Not expecting you to tell me your favorite places, I just wanted to ask how to get to the river. I have never been up there and wouldn't even know where to begin.

A starting point would certainly be appreciated, of course even more detail would appreciated even more.

Thanks much and enjoy your weekend.

If only I knew what I am doing....

Stop by the ranger station in north bend. They have maps and all kinds of info. Plus they can be pretty helpful with the forest service roads and where they go and what not.

The MF has been pumping mud lately, but this cold snap may have whipped it into better shape. But you may also want to explore the N or S fork for better conditions and safer wading.

For the MF, you can find the several parks just north of downtown and find where the 3 forks come together. This would be a good place to start exploring and just pick a fork to work up.

Or, keep heading north and find some access points for the NF.

Or, start in NB or anywhere along I90 up toward the pass to find easy access to probably clear and easy to wade access points.

Or, take exit 34 and head S to the state park for the S fork or head N to SE Middle Fork rd (honk as you pass my house) and find your way to some easy access points all along the middle and upper sections of the MF or the taylor river.

I tend to fish the N and S forks early in the year and move over to the MF in the late summer and fall when my favorite spots can be waded to safely...

A decent map of the area will help as Ty said.

Let us know what you find :thumb

I used to know it all---but now that I'm older I seem to forget it all.

Go to the top of the page and click on flows and then look up what river you want to fish. It shows you what the medium for each river is and you can then draw your own conclusions on if you want to go or not..

Being that you can't get on the tree farm for now,you can still drive the N/Fork road, that belongs to the county. Goes quite a ways back in there.

As Old Man noted above, it the flows are good and the clarity is decent, you can find fish year round. The colder the water the harder it can be though. As the weather warms up in the spring, the fishing should pick up with it - but the snow melt usually gets in the way. So keep an eye on the flows. After a warm spell, the rivers should rise a little during the early spring. Eventually the snow pack will disolve and the warm weather and the good flows will open the doors wide open for great fishing :thumb

Oh - careful what tribs you fish - some are closed waters. Refer to your map and the reg book if not sure...

Well I just looked at the flows and they look good. So I guess that I'll have to come down that way and try the water out. So I hope this weather holds out for a little while so I can get some frothing of the waters in. I have so much time on my hands I don't know what to do with it all.
