Time to get a new water taxi. I am thinking I will go back to a float tube.
Just wondering if the Outcast tubes are worth the money and if anyone has
one with the foam seat. If so, how does it ride?

I have the fish cat. Second one I have owned. When I get into it....the water line is right even with the top of the foam seat. I put my lifejacket underneath to get above waterline.

Problem with the foam seat is that it takes up space. If that is not an issue for you, I would get it.

Worked great for years for me, but now I need to store it in a 5th wheel I might switch to the inflatable seat.

I have the fishcat with the foam seat. I'm 180# and ride pretty even with the waterline. A life jacket underseat is a good idea.
I was also wondering if you could get an inflatable seat and swap out the foam. anyone know if there is any design difference between them?
The fishcat is a good tube, a bit of an improvement over the ODC 420 I had before. With a pair of force fins i get around really well with minimal effort.

I've got a fishcat4 with the inflatable seat and I prefer it over the one I tried with the foam seat. Your preference may vary. I weigh abotu #225 and mine, when fully inflated both sides and the seat my butt is above the waterline and I'm pretty comfortable.

I appreciate you input fellows. I fished for years from a donut with neoprene waders. The fabric finally gave out on me. I went to a pram and now it has quit too. May I should take up bank fishing.

Maybe the inflatable seat is the way to go. I will take a look at both.

Thanks again for your insight and help.

SFC=Super Fat Cat.

I've had both foam and inflatable seats and prefer the air bag for comfort. They are a whole new world if your tube history is limited to donuts. Faster to kick, warmer in cold weather and easier to launch. You also sit higher for better fish spotting.

Guess I will take a long look at the inflatable seat. I would guess that the foam seat might be slick
when wet. Inflatable more of a wrap around seat.

Thanks for helping me make up my mind.
