Hi all,
Thanks for letting me join WFF.com! My buddy has been prodding me to join for years. I not-too-recently found a love for fly fishing which is slowly draining my bank account. Worth it. I am trying to fill out my selection of rods. Currently own a St. Croix 6wt 4 piece entry level rod and a Redington trout classic 4wt. 8wt is next. Anyways good luck and tight lines!

Welcome aboard Jason from Steve in Seattle! What kinds of water do you fish?
I've been doing a few Sound excursions throughout the year. My buddies and I do an annual fly fishing and kayaking trip to the Methow. And I've also been trying to do international fishing trips. The latest was one to Costa Rica where we fished for small mountain stream trout, river rafted for Machaca, and wet waded the mangroves on the coast for Jacks. I think our next trip is to SE Asia. Any specific suggestions anyone? How bout you Steve? What do you focus on? Is there a specific fish or area you like more than others?

Fish Alaska! Or have you already? I live close to Sea Tac airport so any direction there’s tons of lakes. I fish 90% lakes year round, some smaller rivers and have a decent SRC/rezzie beach close to home. I’ve only been fly fishing/tying for 56+ years so far......

That is one of the destinations that's on the list. I still have never been. I'm in Auburn and have yet to fish any local lakes in the 8 years ive been in the greater Seattle(only 6 years fly fishing). I prefer to fish river or steam, but that wouldn't stop me from trying. God knows I need the casting hours. Double overhaul is my next big hurdle.

Hey there!
I am new at this form. Can I ask about
Jumble Solver is a word puzzle with a clue, a drawing illustrating the clue, and a set of words, each of which is “jumbled” by scrambling its letters. A solver reconstructs the words and then arranges letters at marked positions in the words to spell the answer phrase to the clue.
Thanks

Welcome to the world of fly fishing junkies!
You are on the fun and often costly rod acquisition stage that so many of us with understanding partners and a spare closet in the house have journeyed.
Lucky you on the quest for the 8wt, best advise I can supply is budget for two rods and explore the 7wt rods out there at the same time. If like me, you are going to find the seven will see three times the use of your eight because you can still enjoy it in the skinny stuff and with care it will do steelhead and salmon depending on current. That being said my biggest fish landed was an Anchor River Steelhead on a Sage 10 foot 8wt. The perfect rod for the time.
Get them both!
