I dont know the fancy setups by I do know how to fish in the saltwater salmon/cutts/bottomfish,ect. this what I personally use

9.6 5wt with 12ft sink tip, and a intermiate line, you need both, i use this set up fishing shallow water, or from shore for smaller fish, coho (found 8wt better in straits an ocean, never know what you might get) caught alot of sea bass(slab size king broke me off in kelp cause little rod) but little light great inshore set-up. interchangeable tips is what I'm gonna get

9.6 8/9wt use this for fishing deep, with that jim teeny t-400, great sinking line. fishing tide rips, eddies, reefs, legdes. and a floating line for chums, coho in the straits.

gonna get a 7wt with clear mono styper line for my casting along the shore from boat, longer distance than the 5wt.

those 2 setups caught many fish, the third is gonna be my baby thou if my income tax ever comes. :TONGUE
