I picked up a 6 wt Echo rod recently and am looking for information on what weight line to get for it (intermediate) for overhead and 2 hand overhead casting. Anyone have any experience with this rod?
Hopefully, you bought the rod at your local shop, and they can help you. If not, write Echo. I worked at a TFO dealer when they introduced their 8 wt switch, and had to call the corporation, but they had sound advice.
another thing to consider is your reel size/weight, i was advised to go up two sizes from what i would normally use(on a 6 wt.) on the 6/7 beaulah switch that i recently bought to counter the extra length. this clearly has helped me.
Last summer, I tested a prototype Orvis switch line. It answered my call for a single line designed to be light enough to cast overhead as well as being weighted enough to make all the basic speycasts. I just received them into the shop.
