The man was fishing in Kenpgami Lake and caught a 36" Pike. As he was reeling it in, a 56" - 55 lb. Pike tried to eat it! He landed them both in the same net! It is a new Canadian record.

I call this getting upgraded. Ever happen to you?

Using conventional gear, but I hooked a shaker bass one time & as I was rapidly reeling it in, the thing suddenly took-on a whole new fighting spirit. An 8-1/2# Largemouth Bass had taken the plug away from the smaller fish. That pales in comparison to the behemoth that fella encountered, however. A guy would need to tie a big, bushy bucktail with the whole buck attached to entice Pike that size . . .

Those pictures made me think of this for some reason. Probably cause my reaction with the Pike would be similar

Got a couple big bulls landed when they devoured little whitefish I nymphs up. Going from a 1 lb ****** on a 4 wt with 5x tippet to Suprise! A 8 lb bully. Had that happen 2 times on a ranch I used to work at. Upgrades are awesome
