we had one of the new customs and immigration RIB boats pull up along side this am. 4 officers on board, vessel is running 4 - 300hp mercs!!!!! nice guy asked some simple questions, slide his door shut and left us in a nice flat wake and disappered over the horizon, zoot. i can't imagine how many of our tax payer dollars are being used for this waste of time.

The motors on that boat alone have an MSRP of close to $30k each.

While you're at it look at all those million dollar aeroplanes (F16 and such) that go to airshows to burn jet fuel and do funky shows. They burn the tax $$$ too. I bet you hate those too. Every demonstration of capability, show of force or other "waste" as some might put it just may be enough advertisement to those that want to do harmful stupid shit to stay away. Sure it is a lot of money, but the return on that investment may be more than you perceive. I bet that boat can get to the fishing grounds and back hella fast...more time over fishy spots, less time in transit.

Creative criminals will try creative things. I appreciate your opinion, perspective and disappointment with the way some tax dollars have been spent. As for total bunk, peace, love and happiness...history over thousands of years has recorded conflict like we see today. Now we just have more capable means of mass destruction.

I agree. Lets mothball the entire military. Except, keep a few of those trident type subs around so when our country is burning down around us after we display all this tolererance they can nuke the rest of the world and everybody will finally be on equal terms.
