2/3/2010 - Tip Leads to Commercial Fishing Charges - Outdoors - Chattanoogan.com

This aint typical of anybody we know....I hope?

Way back, I was leaving Jameson one opening day. Fish n' Game had a couple guys stopped on the exit road.
They had three plus rows of Rainbows lined up along side that boat.
about 100 more than the 6 fish limit.

Some people have to ugly-up whatever they can.

On the other hand, some of us made a Fly fishing trip up to the little Red in Arkansas.
We spent three days up there catching the heck out of four species.
FnG stopped us, three carloads of us, not a fish in our whole convoy.
They'd been watching us catch from the brush through their Binocs. Followed us back to the Motel.
They'd counted a bunch so they set us up for a stop.
Nary a fish.
We had a helluva time convincing them we were fly fishing guys. We came to fish!

Every once in a while I see some shmuck taking over limit or fishing where they shouldno be here around Mossyrock. I call the Wardens every time. My buddies and I make a great effort to follow the regs where ever we fish and get a little bit peeved about those who don't. If someone wants to take a fish or two for dinner I won't say anything as long as it is legal. But a few will always think that they are above the rules.

I used to see people fishing illegally with bait and keeping everything they caught up in Packwood Lake. Oddly enough, that's one of the very few places I've ever been stopped and had my gear checked in Washington, hopefully they catch the offenders up there.

I was fishing Pilchuck Creek one time in the Summer. Me and my buddies were done for the day and sitting at his truck. A game warden came along and was bullshitting with me and my buddy. When out of the woods comes this Mexican with a stringer of fish all under the size limit. At the time the limit was two fish and over 14" in length. His were many and all under 6". He got a nice ticket. But I didn't stick around for the outcome. I guess I should have.
