I agree 7' seems too short, yielding a steep angle and wide grip position. I prefer a narrow grip and shallower angle. Although 9' may be a bit long, it could prove to be the combo you like. I know a couple of guys that like 9' on that boat.
The width of the frame is important as well as the length of boat, for oar size. What's the width(oarlock to oarlock) of the PAC 1200? I'm guessing 18" diameter tubes? Seat same level as the top of the tubes? Or depressed or elevated?7.5' mini mags work well with my 12' pontoon. 8' might be a little better. I think 8' would be the minimum length for a 13'.
All true. The width of the frame is important as well as the length of boat, for oar size. What's the width(oarlock to oarlock) of the PAC 1200? I'm guessing 18" diameter tubes? Seat same level as the top of the tubes? Or depressed or elevated?
Wow! The rowers seat is quite high!!!
That's very generic rule of thumb, the width between the oarlocks is only one part of the equation.Rule of thumb is 1-1/2 times the width between oarlocks.
