Without expressing and opinion one way or the other, does anyone know when the Senate is going to be voting on the Health Care Bill? Also, what in your opinion is the best non-partisan news website?

Looks like there's going to be a debate on whether or not to read the bill, and I wonder how many of the idiots will vote on it without even reading it? Where's Vlad the Impaler when you need him?? I haven't found any decent non-partisan news sources, Joe...I just have to cobb it together from analysis of multiple sources. It's a pathetic day when news services can't keep their biases out of reporting.

Anyone know how the chummies are doing in th Skagit? I live right next to the river and know it is running a bit high and vis isn't very good but I have been working so much I haven't had the chance to take a good look at things. Wonder if the hatchery steelhead are showing yet.

What? Oh, this isn't a thread on chummies? Sorry.

All I want for Christmas this year is governmental gridlock! I want that every year, politicians scare me more than clowns.

Any truth to the rumor that Mumbles is Nancy Pelosi & Dick Cheney's love child? He's got her crazy eyes and his hair.

Just wondering.

I don't think that this is the place for discussion on anything political, but I will give some recommendations for more reliable, less biased online news. The ones I frequent are:

BBC News
The Christian Science Monitor
NPR.org

My two favorites are the Christian Science Monitor and BBC. BBC has a slight left bias and the Monitor has a slight right bias. They balance nicely for a well rounded worldview. I like NPR's audio more than anything.

Does anyone know of a good boutique snow shovel shop where I can get a chrome plated model with a teak handle and a lifetime warranty?
You're a pretty handy guy Ive. Why don't you build your own? With a planing form and the proper taper you could build a custom snow shovel to precisely your own specifications. Heck, once you get the process figured out, you could probably start a home-based business selling custom snow shovels online.

In trying to talk about you stupid health insurance. I have one of the cheapest policies out there. Well almost. They(the insurance carrier) take my medicare payment and on top of that I have to pay 58 bucks a month starting in January. But my meds are way cheaper than if I had to buy them with out it. Regular pills, not generic $35.00 and the generic ones $5.00. But this also goes up next year, $3.00 more.

But here is what pisses me off. When I first got to Montana I got in on the ground floor of Humana. No premiums at all. Then last year they said I had to pat $18.00 a month. This next year it goes up to $58.00 a month. Then on top of that I have to pay a copay of $30.00 every time I go see a saw bones. So I only go to see a doctor once a year.

Shit it never seems to end. I guess that they don't want me to have any money left at the end of the month. They sure like to stick it to the seniors/

You shouldn't of got me started on this sore point in my life I have left.

BBC and NPR are good. I also like to watch Canadian and Mexican channels. Since they are our neighbors, everything we do affects them, but they ain't us.

Best sign seen at a rally:

"Keep your government hands off my Medicare!"

Write your local politician and strongly urge them NOT to vote for this bill. Being a constitutionalist I don't see where in that special document it says that healthcare is a right which should be provided to all citizens.

Two simple questions and I put a burr under ya'lls saddle. I should have figured the only folks I would hear from are the folks that are the most p/o'ed. I did however get a couple of responses like I'd hoped for. Thanks for those. I guess when you play with hornets you should expect to get stung.
