I am still trying to get my fiance into one of those days that will "hook" her into the sport. Unfortunately, I have been less than successfull thus far. I was wondering how productive the Okanogan is for Smallies... I have had lots of fun on the SF of the Umpqua for the little guys, and from what I have read, the Okanogan sounds very similar. I know the lower part of it is open year round, but when would be the soonest it would be good? Any suggestions or comments?

I would imagine it will start getting good sometime next month, maybe earlier, depending on the weather. I'm not sure how much shore access there is on the Okanogan. The Lower Yakima in the area around Benton City is also very good for smallmouth, and so are a lot of the back waters on the Columbia.
