Sean - you have been pretty quiet for a retired guy. Missed the opener last year, I’ll be there this year unless it is bad ass cold like a few years ago.

Steve - You & L never quit - unless you run out of CR.

Well Scott, last year I was able to put 28 days on a couple of lakes in March and April (in my trailer), and since I am retired if the weather was to cold, rainy or blowy I just didn't fish or went in early! That is the sweet part!!!

I did put I think about 60 days in fishing, I need to work on that in 2018 ( increase ). But other stuff gets in the way even when your retired haha...

My plan is to be there for the opener and love in the parking lot for most of March. See ya there!!! Irish Death in hand

Last year was a bit cold and brutal as well. Not quite as cold as that other opener year, but I did have an interesting adventure with the cold last year. Look up the Hot cop and the guinea pig thread.

I likely won't be there on the actual opening day, but maybe the day after.

where are people thinking of heading this year? I am honestly thinking of placing Lenice lower on my Go To Lake list. the fish are not getting bigger there and I need to expand my horizons. when the season gets closer, I wouldn't mind seeing where folks are going.
I can camp, fish, drink and cook with the best of them!

thanks -dp

SMH - you know something I don't or that is different from the regs that go through June 30th.
What about the seep lakes?
I think Scott has it right, no changes this year, the trout reg changes kick in March 1, 2019. As for the seeps, that's a pretty vague term. ;) I think the plan was to change lakes to either March 1 or the last weekend in April. In the case of the lakes in the Columbia Wildlife Refuge (which is what I think you mean by "seeps"), they can't be accessed before April 1 (fed regs), which means the only alternative is late April.

I'd like to think we can still get to them and convince them to leave the seeps as April 1. But catering to the lowest common denominator seems to the WDFW's specialty, so I wouldn't hold out hope. If someone can't open up an alphabetical listing of lakes, find the lake by name, and look at the date, how in the hell are they even capable of driving there to fish it? Sadly I think a lot of these things are a guise to reduce enforcement needs--which is to say, to try to make what meager enforcement they have more effective / have less workload.
