Hi,
I recently stumbled over a trailer for skagitmaster on youtube:
at around 1:50 one can see that steelhead flies with incredibly nice and vibrating hackles are created. Since I am not used to those kind of flies (never fished for stelehead since we don't have them over here in switzerland) I was wondering if someone from you could help me with the following questions:
- what pattern are those - is there a specific name for this style of flies?
- is that hackle spinning that is shown there a standard spinning method or is that some specialist tool? If it is "standard" can anybody point me to a good source how to learn it?
- what kind of hackles are those? I like the "spidery" look - they would be great for our Asp (at least that's what it screamed at me when I saw them)
Thanks a lot for your help - greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Nik
