I don't know about pinks bringing out the worst of people on the river, but it sure brings out the worst on this board!

I love pink years. I love pinks. Salmon that eat flies better than any other gear type, what's wrong with that!

Did it off Sekiu, relentless hook ups. The silver hordes were snapping.

Actually had a larger specimen take my fly rod right out of the boat, I set it down to do some back stretching with about 20' of line in the water......

Pulled a quick 180 and thank goodness for that floating running line!

While bucktailing off Jeffs Head I used to hook them all the time. The dilemma was their soft mouths while bucktailing. More hooked than landed. That and I was going for coho.

Pink salmon are very fun to catch, and this fun should not be spoiled by keeping them for food. After years of experiments I now will only smoke the occasional thick pink buck. They are lousy on the BBQ in my opinion.

I would agree withDB. They taste
like mushy yuck. I kept one, cleaned
and iced it in 10 minutes. BBQed it
and it was icky. No flavor and a disagreeable
texture. Smoke-em if you get em.
