Super easy to tie. I think it was the first fly in Kaufmans how to tie wet flys book I have.
I'm not sure where you live but am making the assumption you're somewhere near the saltwater ..... If you're anywhere near Puget Sound, stop by one of the many fly shops and ask about fly patterns - my guess is you'll find something quite suitable for perch (piling perch). I used to fish off a dock close to Bainbridge Island, I used piling worms harvested from beneath the floats in Poulsbo Marina. Great bait for perch (two species), bullheads and back then Pacific cod fish. Never gave a thought to trying flies but now I wonder about dropping a fly beneath an indicator...... we also dropped ring pots for rock crab. Afterwards it was up to Bomi and Roshan's house for seafood curry - the catch went into the pressure cooker. That was some good eatin'!I hate to revive a 12 year old thread but...
Rockfish...where do you get you flies from?
I'd like to buy som of these...
Also...does anyone have a picture of said flies?
Oh...and what exactly is a San Juan Worm?
Thanks!
If you tie some of these up, use Vernille or Ultra Chenille.San Juan Worm is chunk of Chenille tied to a hook.
