I'm looking to purchase a 6wt for the sound as this seems to be the ideal from what I've read. I'm leaning towards the Sage Motive but would love to get some input from you all....and if someone has a rod for sale, I might be interested.

6 wt is the ideal wt rod for the sound in my opinion.
I don't know much about the Motive, other then it is fast action.
There are a lot of different rods, both new and used that will get the job done.

I'd figure out what line you want to use then go visit a shop and cast some rods.
The Motive may be it or you might end up liking something else that is better for your casting style.

I'd suggest you cast as many rods as you can at a fly shop and pick the rod you cast best. I like the Redington predator 5wt, as it fits my style and preference. Others i know like the9' 6wt or 9'6" 6wt rods. Its all about what fits you.
