A project I've been working on the last few days, I tied up some Puget Sound SRC fly selections for the Boise FF show. Ended up with a couple extra selections so thought I'd throw them up here.

12 flies in a selection, two each of the following : Rubber Legged Clouser, the Stonefish UV Resin Sandlance, modified Delia Squid, Modified Squimp, Chum Baby, and the UV Resin Popsicle Stick

The intent was to tie up a package that would allow a new beach goer a selection of extremely productive flies to get started.

Asking $30 dollars for a selection.

I also ended up with extra materials so if anyone wanted a custom order or something I could probably work something out.

Great looking selection Nick! I'm going to use yours as a model to tie up my own.

Sorry Merle,
Nick's patterns are patented.
You'll need to pay him royalties.... :D
Just kidding!

Nick ties some great looking flies.
They catch fish and are nearly indestructible.
Whoever buys his flies will enjoy fishing them.

Hah If I got royalties I'd then have to pass along about 90% of them to you for all the ideas I steal :)

Thanks for the kind words Brian. I really try to focus on flies that will catch fish and not fall apart. There are tons and tons of folks who tie prettier flies than mine. I'm the first to admit that... but I feel like there's not a lot of flies more durable than mine. I go to great lengths to build them as tough as possible. Nothing I hate more than a fly that falls apart after a couple fish!

interesting selection, very nice..the fly I've had the best luck with for SRC in lower tidewater is an Ally's Shrimp pattern. Anyone given it a try?
That is a beautiful fly! And I have no doubt it would catch cutthroat.

The honest truth, however, is that I would absolutely destroy that thing on the beach, and it doesn't appear to be a very quick tie lol.

Everyone has their own style, and the best anyone can do is figure out what works for them and how they prefer to fish. Myself, I know the way I fish that durability is key number one for any fly I tie. It has to survive me. It has to be tied so that the hook itself fails before the fly does. And it has to be something I can sit down and crank out at the vise in minimal time because when I'm fishing a lot I don't have a ton of time to dedicate to tying. I also find that I tend to like flies that focus more on profile and movement rather than specifically "matching the hatch" in design and color. I find that when fish are eating sand lance, for example, Stonefish's sand lance pattern tied in any color will produce. It's why I tend to tie so many flies in the pink/white/chartreuse color combo. By keeping the same color scheme and just changing the profile of the fly I'm able to catch fish in a ton of situations.

But that's just me. That's the cool thing. That's what works for me, and how I like to go about it. Doesn't mean its the way to do it, it's just my way. Everyone is different and there are so many ways to go about this fishery. As Stonefish said on another thread, he prefers yellow eyes on his flies, where I tie a lot with red eyes. We both have our preferences and we both catch fish. It just comes down to confidence.

Anyway, as I said that's a beautiful fly and I can't picture many cutthroat passing up on that.

that makes sense..to be clear, not my tie, just grabbed the pic off the internet..mine are a whole lot simpler using similar colors and shape..and btw, have found the Ally's Shrimp to be an effective sub surface silver salmon fly..
