Been tryin that Hem but I'm not sure how comfortable I am with some of the pawn shops around here. Pretty sketchy places and not many of them see on the up and up. Although that might just be a requirement for a pawn shop.

Just a suggestion. You might have a tough time finding a "lightly used" shotgun for $250.00.I'm no pawn shop guro, but if you are patient, know what your after, and how much its worth, sometimes you can find a steal(no pun) at the P.S..Works even better if you work a trade into the deal. Two of my rifles came from local shops, one brand new for a good price, and the other purchased from a guy carrying a rifle into the shop to pawn, who I intercepted.Pawn shops see a sketchy crowd, but they still generally have to mind their P's and Q's when it comes to firearms.Good luck with the search.

Just a hint but hunting season time of year is not the best time to be looking for a shot gun bargin. Wait till the off season when used gun prices are much less since they are often sold to pay bills when owner knows that he will not need for 6 months. Even right now on Seattlegun.net you can not touch a shot gun for under $300 unless its a signal shot or Sears type branded. But just 4 months ago there were many in the $200-250 range.
One of my latest gun mags even had a pretty good artical on the use of long guns to pay bills during the off season then guys go looking to replace or buy back the one they sold or pawned to shop or to freind when hunting season start to get close. Still kicking myself for not trying to buy a nice over under out from under a pawn shop that was only offering a guy $180 trade in on the old very nice Browning that looked like a real safe queen. Only trouble was I was still waiting to pick up from the pawn shop a little pistol I had put on lay away for Amie so it would not be found by her before Xmas. Guy was trying to get $200 for it and owner was holding at $180. Real sad because I had the $200 cash on me and the pistol was already paid for. I was also a little afraid of bringing another shot gun home since I had bought already 2 in the last couple months and was not sure what Amie would have said. I told her about later after xmas and she said I should have bought so I kicked myself again.
