Well, normally the big push for silvers/kings are in Aug/Sept. You're a bit late. You'll have chums coming in Nov/Dec. October is a slow month on the Puy. Not sure on upper river though, I normally have always fished the lower river below confluence. You will catch some, but October has always been a slow month on the Puy. Checked my logs, and we pretty much stopped fishing the Puy around mid Sept. When river was open year around, we'd hit silvers/kings as early as first of August. That was back in the 70's.
