livingston are fairly heavy. they gave way to lighter, packable inflatables for dingies 10+ years ago. therefore, they are very easy to come by. i think you should look at classifieds to compare prices. my brother recently picked one up for $200 at a marine swap meet. i would not consider it to be in good shape if it needs glass work. take a look around, many small boats are up for sale at the begining of the trout opener.

I had a 10' Livingston for a month before I sold it to buy a 10' jon boat. The Livingston was extremely difficult to load and unload by myself. The Livingston is very stable, but my jon boat has been very stable also. Plus the jon boat is around 100# lighter. $400 seems a little pricey for a used 10' boat that needs patching.
