Have a friend who loves his RB Meiser switch and I've been seriously considering one (gonna pull the trigger on a new switch rod in the next week or two). $100 more than the Beulah Platinum, and the Platinums are an imported rod. And both are hundreds less than the high end Sages. I read this from Meiser's website:
"All R.B. Meiser two handed rods are conceived, designed, and custom built in our shop in Southern Oregon. We use only our own in-house proprietary blank designs."
Does this mean the blanks are designed here, but made somewhere else? I would gladly pay an extra $100 for a 100% American made rod. The blanks themselves are only $150, so the other $450 is for the components and build. Makes me think he's having them built overseas to his specifications. Are these blanks as light as the Platinums? I don't want to pay the extra just for a fancy build. My priorities are rod performance, and preferably made in USA.
