Both are very good reels; you can't lose with either. I believe the SA is a little lighter and a little less expensive, but we're only talking a little bit in each of these areas. The SA has quite a bit more drag adjustment, if I recall correctly, for fine tuning. Both companies will be around for a long time. Both products are lifetime products.

If I were going to buy the SA, I'd be all over buying a couple of spools, too, while they are available and cheap. It might be a little more difficult to tract down a DXR spool.
