Just two more wake-ups, Roper, and the good life will get even better. Congratulations bud and welcome to the footloose and fancy free fraternity. The best is yet to come.

When I retired, I threw away most of my shoes
and all of my ties except for one that I kept just in case somebody dies.

I retired 2 years ago, and now have less free time than I did when I worked. Not how it's supposed to work, I know.

Congrats, Roper - enjoy!
Yes, congrats Roper!
most excellent congratulations Roper! More time at the Ranch (to mow the lawn, right?), polish the bike up, catch fish, and enjoy some good "adult beverages", as Bitterroot would say!
Congrats,
I'm inspired to save more everytime a Flyfisherman retires.

By the first of May I'll have been retired for 18 years. Just gotta love retirement. Don't do anything rash and you'll live as long as I am.
I'll join you in about 20 years!
Congrats!...soon to follow ;)
Thanks everyone, I've talked about doing this for a few years now. The freedom to do what you want when you want will be priceless. Glenda and I have worked hard to pay off all our debt so we're in great shape.

Fishing, hunting, woodworking, landscaping ( mowing), and learning to homebrew...plenty to do for sure.

Th Spring Fling is right around the corner...Pass Lake Saturday morning...

Welcome to the "everyday is a Saturday" club. Just don't let your bank account know you retired. Enjoy.

Congratulations Roper! I retired just over a year ago and right away discovered two good things: 1. The hours just can't be beat; 2. The new boss ain't bad at all.

I put off retirement for over a year, concerned I might not adapt well. Turns out I'm more adaptable than I thought. Here's wishing you an easy transition as well.

Good for you Roper. The first few months are strange for lack of a better term. Steve might be an exception but for myself and a few others I know we couldn't just stop working after 50 or so years. It took a few months for me to stop getting up at 5 in the morning and putting in my 10 or 12. A couple years later and things are pretty laid back around here. I stay busy, sort of, but nothing has a deadline and if it doesn't get done today there is still tomorrow and the day after or when I get back from the river.

Have fun.

Congrats Roper! My wife called the Buckley's and left a message that said : Hey Bill, Roper said to say Hi! Bill called back wondering how the heck she knew you! I'm clocking out at 10 for the last time tomorrow and several of us from PSD are going down to the Diamond Knot in Mukilteo for lunch...you are more than welcome to join in!
