I was wondering if anyone has used a Rio shooting Line with braided dacron backing? If so I am wondering what your method was for connecting these two lines?
Albright or Nail Knot unless you can get a loop welded into the running line and then you can do a loop to loop (recommend either the running line loop be spool sized large or the doubled dacron loop be spool sized large for changes if you swap from a running line and heads to a full line.
With braided dacron you can do a knotless loop with a piece of wire....................it is now the rage with the hollow core gelspun lines..................dacron is the same....................you can even splice it the same way.................................if this is to be your running line forget it.........unless you like tangles!!!
I strip 4" to 6" of the coating off the running line and use the exposed core to tie a blood Knot directly to the dacron backing . A drop of Knot Sense to make things smooth and your good to go .
Braided Dacron backing - 6" Blind Splice Loop, sparsely(very small amount) Aquasealed.
Rio shooting line - Non- Slip Loop Knot , strip coating, tie knot using the single strand mono. core.
Connection - loop to loop.
