Another gift from our friends across the pond. Wing size is a compromise between those I've seen on Caithness and Frankie McPhillips sites. This one's supposed to flop on it's side; most of my dries do the same thing, inadvertently, without the fancy spinnaker.
hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tail - pheasant tail
rib - Uni-Stretch camel
body - dubbing cream
wing - mallard flank dyed olive
hackle - grizzly dyed olive (oversize by 1)
mash barb, start thread, wrap to point above barb

measure (hook length x 2) some pt barbs; tie in/trim (easier to manage them if you keep them on the stem)

tie in rib

dub thread/dub body to 2/3 mark

take first turn of Uni-Stretch flat (keeps the tail from torquing), then twist and rib body; tie off/trim

measure (hook length x 2) mallard flank, tie in/trim; take a few wraps in front to set the wing angle

tie in hackle

wrap hackle, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

Regards,
Scott
