I have been using an OPST commando head and their lazar running line as well. I love both, but if it is really windy the lazar line can really blow around. Of course, this was in Argentina and the wind was blowing 40. Is there something else I can try?

I would try southern Albania or perhaps just north of there.

I had trouble with the Lazar line twisting. Both the 25# and 35#. Could not get rid of it no matter what I tried. Went to the Gripshooter instead. Doesn't shoot quite as far, obviously, but worked much better overall. Currently not using a couple OPST heads. May come back to them but moved on for now.

I have OPST heads for 6, 7, 8, and 9 wt rods. Many of my friends have also now gone to these. Once you get the tips and fly size figured out they are incredible for most of the fishing we do in Alaska.

If the wind is blowing anywhere near 40mph there really is no solution to the shooting line drifting during the cast. Even at 40kph you are still going to have a rough go of it because of the inherent limitations in fly tackle.
