I have a question: if someone breaks a Sage rod made from a blank, I assume Sage just replaces the blank section and the owner finds someone to do the work on it. Is this correct?

Never had it happen, but I've always been curious…

Yes. Thats all any company with a failure deemed factory defect is liable for with custom builds.

You send in the old, they cut off the guides, and mail them back with the replacement section.

Most companies spec in their warranties that you need to remove guides from the effected piece prior to shipping in. So they are not liable for losing them.

I've had the misfortune of sending in several and have never been instructed to do that.
That being said, I'd be more comfortable doing that and keeping them under my own watch.

You're right. Sage doesnt have that verbage like most others.

Thankfully I havent had to rewrap any Sage's yet due to breakage.

Just rewrapped a section of an Orvis Helios ZG though. Lol
