Sage Warranty

The tip of my Sage One 5wt snapped today, I'm not sure how it happened, it was probably hit by the bh wooly bugger I was casting.

Given that Same is somewhat local, what is the consensus to get it fixed, should I fill their online form and shop it? Or is it worth it to stop by the factory? Is there any state park close to it that it's worth it to go to the factory and try some SRC finish while in the neighborhood ?

Please share your experience, thanks!

Not sure how the "WA Reference" tag got set, does anybody know how to remove it?

Update: thanks to whoever fixed it!

If you're remotely local just walk it in. No need to fill anything out or pay for the shipping. I bring in Sage/Redington gear a half dozen times a year and I've never filled out anything beyond their contact form so they can call me when finished. Never once been asked for a warranty card.

Highly recommend calling ahead and setting up to do the factory tour. I did it with @Irafly a couple years ago with our kids and it was very enjoyable

Yeah, go to the factory for sure if it's not too much hassle. I agree with Nick that setting up a our while you're there is a good idea. There are ample places to fish nearby especially if you want to drive back around. All kinds of water on that loop.
Bring it in. You can get a tour of the factory. Here is decent searun fishing at Fay bainbridge park on the north end of the island, or fort ward (?) on rich passage looking at port orchard.
Thank you all for the responses, I'm convinced. I'll take it in person and do the tour.

If you're near the factory great. I have had two Sage rods break in the past and sending them was problem free. I received both them back (on separate occasions) within a week and could not be happier with their service.
Headed to Sage right now to pick up my 3 weight. Tip spilt and they've repaired it sans warranty card or any questions.

Got my 6 weight outfit with me and am planning on finding some src action.

I've been out in West Seattle (Lincoln Park) about 5 or 6 times and have not had even a nibble.

Where's my best chance at hooking one on BI?

How did the repair turnout? Their repair on my new TCX looked liked my 10 year old son performed the work.

Lined up the ferry across now. I'll let you know in an hour or so.

I'm surprised to hear that because if their repair work is anywhere close to their customer service, I'm expecting mine to be as good as new.

I was expecting the same thing when I sent mine in...

Sorry, I completely forgot to get back to you.

They built me a new tip. It's perfect.
