Snuck out the the Middle Fork Snoqualmie today for a couple hours fishing. Slow fishing but a Mountain Lion ran across the road right in front of my car just past the Oxbow trail as I was driving home at about 6pm. Much bigger than I expected.

Has anyone else seen a mountain lion in the middle fork drainage?

Ever since they quit hunting these animals with dogs the population has gone up. People are seeing more and more of them in the woods of Washington State.
Good for the animals and bad for you if you ever corner one of them.

No but they are everywhere, still waiting for my 1st sighting. I know theve seen me though. Bears, bobcats, coyote' s but no cougers, except those that are looking to be hunted

I saw my first bobcat last week - it ran across the street by the Woodinville library. It wasn't what I expected - much bigger and its coat was darker brown in color than pictures I've seen. Had to hit the brakes, it hesitated, looked at me and then bolted. It was 9:00ish in the AM, probably sighting in a bunny.

Yeah I'd be more worried about the tweakers around the trailheads than having a problem with a mountain lion.

Cool sighting OP. I have seen a couple of them when I lived in MT. Crazy cool animals. It's kind of terrifying to think about a cat that big cruising around woods.

Then you'd have tweaking cougars. Get them addicted to meth and you'll have cougars attacking people. It's already happening, mountain goats got hooked on urine

100+ years ago they were hunted on a regular basis for a bounty on their noses...it also helps that most people were packin' back then too.
Your odds may not be in your favor as you may think.

Congrats to those who have had the good fortune to see one of the elusive cats.

At my age, some cougars can pose a very remote, potential threat to me I suppose. Others not so much (and they are readily spotted - look for blue hair) . . .

Been bear hunting lately. In one week I saw 1 cub, one grown male, 1 lion and 2 bobcat. Pretty neat for sure. It was my first lion
